East of Anatolia, Armenian inscribed and dated 1890 iron carpet weaving comb. "Zarouhi Fishengjian" 1890
This is for those who STILL doggedly believe Armenians were only rug merchants and never wove. Or they commissioned others to weave and added an Armenian inscription or other such nonsense. Notice the Islamic date bottom right? It has no bearing on provenance. Many Armenian rugs had Islamic dates because it was the lingua franca of the Ottoman Empire.
