Masterpiece! A pair of intricate, repousee silver Armenian bible covers. 6.5" x 4" Dated 1812. First cover depicts the resurrection of Jesus holding a cross in heaven with radiating lights surrounded by seraphim angels. The inscription reads “Յ(Ի)Շ(ԱՏԱ)Կ Է ԱՅՇՈՏՑԻ ԸՐԱՏԻՑ ԹՈՐՈՍԻ ՈՐԴԻ ԱԲԱՐԿՈՍԻՆ, ՈՀԱՆԻՆ, ՄԻԼՔՈՆԻՆ, ԱՅՇՈՏԻ Է(Ա)ԿԷ(Ա)ՑՆ ԹՎԻՆ ՌՄԿԵ (1265 + 551 = 1816) which translates to: ““Memorial from Urad or (Hrand) of Ayshod or (Ashotsk) to Toros son Aparagos, to Ohan, to Milkon of Ayshod (Ashotsk) 1265 + 551 = 1816)”
