Ottoman-Armenian serving plate with cover. From Tokat in Eastern Anatolia. Hand-forged with its original lid shaped like an Ottoman helmut. Islamic date is 1270 or 1854 today. Engraved says “Ի վայելումն տ(ի)ր(ա)ցու Կարապետի(ն)” or “To the delight of Mr. Garabed”. Such plates were used for main courses. A great example of Armenian workmanship. Diameter 10" (25.5 cm). Height 7" (17 cm). Depth 1.5" (3 cm).
